This Page is under Construction First Walrpa locomotive along with "Yellow Rose" to be delivered to WP on 11th March 1983 Restoration was commenced on Ridley by Mr D. Kent, on the 10th of March 1984, when a new Vanguard motor was obtained to fit into it. It entered service on the 13th May 1984 and was soon on hire for Mussel Pool - Central construction work bringing some welcome income to the railway. Although somewhat unusual to drive because of the strange wheel arrangement, this loco provided many years of good service alongside the BBR's other petrol engined locomotives - Maylands and Yellow Rose. The Ridley is now the motive and power source of our track tamping machine. More Info to come |
